Domain Management

Domain Management

In SSL Chef, the entire process begins with adding a domain. Domain management forms the foundation of your certificate workflows. In this section, you will learn how to list domains, filter them, and add domains using different methods.

Domain List

When you navigate to the domain management screen, you can view all domains registered in the system as a list. The following information is displayed for each domain:

  • Domain name — The registered domain address
  • SSL status — Whether the certificate is active, expired, or not yet installed
  • Expiration date — The SSL certificate’s expiry date

This allows you to monitor the SSL status of all your domains from a single screen.

Advanced Filtering

As your domain list grows, it becomes important to quickly find the domain you are looking for. With SSL Chef’s advanced filtering feature, you can easily search through your domains.

Adding Domains

There are 3 different ways to add a new domain to SSL Chef. When you click the add button, a modal opens where you can choose your preferred method.

1. Single Domain Addition

From the first tab in the modal, “Add Domain”, you can add a single domain.

  • Enter the domain name
  • Optionally add a note for the domain
  • Click the add button to save

This is the fastest option when you want to add a single domain.

2. Bulk Import

Switch to the “Bulk Import” tab in the modal to add multiple domains at once.

  • Enter a list with one domain per line
  • All domains will be created in bulk

This method is ideal when you need to quickly import a large number of domains into the system.

3. Import from Connections

Click the “From Connections” tab in the modal to automatically import domains from your previously configured connections.

  • Your supported connections are listed (e.g., cPanel, Plesk)
  • All domains from the selected connection are imported into the system in bulk

Auto-Import Feature

When using this method, you can enable the auto-import feature on supported connections. When this feature is active:

  • When a new domain is created on the external system (cPanel, Plesk, etc.), it is automatically imported into SSL Chef
  • This ensures you track all your domains without any gaps
  • The need for manual additions is eliminated
The auto-import feature is especially convenient for servers hosting a large number of domains. Having newly added domains automatically synced to SSL Chef guarantees that no domain is missed in certificate management.
